Paris 1900. Loulou is an orphan who is trying to discover why her parents abandoned her. As she struggles to find her true identity, Gaby, a street urchin from around Montmartre, is fighting against all kinds of injustice. If Loulou becomes a model for Degas at the Opéra, and learns the French Cancan with La Goulue, Gaby will become a film reporter for the Lumière brothers. In the hustling bustling Paris of the Belle Epoque, just as a new century is beginning, they take their first steps in life together.
